What is Menopause?
Menopause is an inevitable life stage that can impact a person in many different ways. With people in this scenario living longer and more productive lives, our goal is to provide compassionate care with a focus on overall health.
Menopause refers to a point in time when a person has gone 12 consecutive months without a menstrual period. Menopause is a natural aging part and marks the end of reproductive years. On average, the age of menopause happens at 51.
Natural menopause is the permanent ending of menstruation that doesn’t happen because of any medical treatment. This process is gradual and occurs in three stages include:
Perimenopause or “menopause transition”: Perimenopause can starts eight to 10 years before menopause when your ovaries gradually produce less estrogen. It begins when you’re in your 40s.
Menopause: This is the point when you no longer have menstrual periods.
Postmenopause: This is the the time after you haven’t had a period for an entire year.
